COCONUT OIL!! WHAAAAAAA??

Why Coconut Oil you ask?
WHY NOT?!?!
Coconut Oil is so useful in so many ways. To list of just a few:
  1. Cooking
  2. Smoothies
  3. Moisturizing (face and body)
  4. Hair/Face Masks
  5. Cutical Oil
  6. De-frizzing Hair Oil
  7. Makeup Removal
And my list could seriously go on for days.
Don't believe me? Look it up, that's what Google is there for isn't it? Haha just kidding. Here's some more info.
Coconut Oil is derived from the white meat of the coconut and there are typically three kinds you can find in your grocery store: REFINED, UNREFINED, AND VIRGIN. So which one should you be using? Really you can use any kind you want. The best for all around is going to be VIRGIN or UNREFINED oil. These oils haven't been heated and the meat of the coconut usually wasn't dried in harsh conditions to extract the oil. This is the only kind of coconut oil I would recommend ingesting. It is a little more expensive but it's worth it. The refined works just fine when using it for any external purposes.

So now you need a little help whipping up some awesome DIY little lovelies. I suppose I could help you with that. But don't forget that you can use coconut oil alone on your hair overnight as well as a total body moisturizer. Just give it a little time to soak in before getting dressed (it doesn't really have the same awesome effect on your clothes :P)

DIY PROTEIN HAIR MASK
You will need:
  • 3-6 tbs coconut oil (depending on how much hair you have)
  • 1tbs vitamin E oil
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 1-2 whole eggs
Mix well and leave in hair for up to an hour. Shampoo thoroughly and condition as normal. Hair will be shiny and much easier to manage AND LESS FRIZZ!

HYDRATING COCONUT OIL FACE MASK
You will need:
  • 1tbs coconut oil
  • 1/2 tbs honey
  • 2-3 drops of your favorite essential oil (I like lavender, rose, & tea tree)
Mix ingredients together and apply to face using either fingers or an old foundation brush. Leave for 5-15 minutes and simply rinse off.

I even add coconut oil to my smoothies, coffee and tea. It adds a slight coconut flavor and smooth texture. You can just spoon it out of the jar and down a tablespoon but... I'm not really a fan of that.

My love for coconut oil is probably a serious problem and more of an addiction but you should give it a try next time you're at your local health food store. I really think most people will love it.
Let me know what you think!
Thank for reading and I really hope you enjoy!
