Ipsy December 2013

Woohoo! It's that time of the month again! IPSYYYYYY! Are you excited?!
Fist off I have to talk about this months absolutely BEAUTIFUL bag!
This is just a stunning little bag that I can see myself using for multiple reasons for many years to come!! I completely flipped out jumping for joy when I saw this bag! Good on ya Ipsy! They just keep getting better!
The first bit are two samples from a brand called English Laundry. I am not entirely sure of the names of the scents (English Rose? and Arrogant?) but they smell okay. One is feminine and the other is masculine. They both have a strong sweet floral scent to me with the feminine version being more vibrant and flirty and the masculine being stronger and musky. They were alright, good winter scents.20
Next is the NikaK New York Nail Polish in Ripe Apple. The color in the picture isn't true to the color on my nails. It is a deeper red (my first reactions was kind of a barbeque sauce red...). I have to say, I was a bit frustrated when I saw that I got this color because I'm really not a fan of red nail polish, but once I put it on I loved it! Its a very unique color and the formula is really lovely! Almost fully opaque in the first swipe. With the second swipe you will be looking like you just stepped out of the salon! Seeing as I have a pretty hands on every day job though, the color was fading by the end of the day. That's okay though I still really like it.

Now, I was SOOOOOO excited to see that we were getting the Be a Bombshell "The One Stick". I was just praying that I didn't get this color (and yet I did. Unfortunately this wasn't a happy ending like the nail polish) it wasn't the darkest color at least. I might be able to maybe pull this off on my lips (big MAYBE), but as you can see in the swatch picture, it is a very true red/slightly pink color and next to the full on swatch I blended the product out and it makes me look like I just got out of a long day in the sun with no SPF whatsoever. Aside from the color I am impressed with the pigmentation and wonderful creamy texture. For the ten dollars I spend on the bag I would still count it as a success considering I now know I like the product and can buy a color I like without the fear of not knowing!

I did get some pretty eyeshadows though! This is a Pop Beauty Brighten Up Your Life Trio in Smokin Hot. I believe this is just a few shades from the larger Smokin Hot palette they sell on their sight. The shadows are so smooth and pigmented as you can see, and they don't seem powdery AT ALL! Which is fabulous because that means less fall out! GREAT product! Glad to add it to my hoard! Haha!

And now for my favorite part of the actual bag, the NYX Extra Creamy Round Lip Stick in Iris.
I REALLY LOVE this color. It is very natural yet slightly orangey/peachy undertone which complements my skin tone like WOW! The formula ( I do own more of these) is so soft and like the name says, CREAMY, that you won't even notice that you have a lipstick on. NYX lipsticks are one of my favorites from the drugstore! I am very in love with the brand! So Ipsy can just keep sending me more NYX stuff and I won't complain!

And last but not least...
For earning 1000 Ipsy points I got a totally FREE Beauty Blender, Yes a real Beauty Blender! So excited about this! I can't wait to try it out! I've heard so many good things and I'm glad I don't have to worry about the price!

I loved this months bag! I am glad that I got all of the things I did, even if I wasn't entirely thrilled with some of the colors. That's what bags and boxes like this are for! In total this bag was worth around SEVENTY yes $70 dollars! So I'm pretty sure I have no room to complain!

Black Friday Coastal Scents Haul

Coastal Scents was having a 50% off sale on the very scary Black friday, so I decided to pick up a few things!
If you want to check them out, click the link below.
They always package your order so beautifully!

First item I picked up was another 252 palette.(Because one of mine mysteriously disappeared...)
I love this palette. It's AMAZING for everything! There are so many colors that are beautifully pigmented! Must have!
Next up I got a few brushes to add to my kit. One of my favorite is a down right dupe for the Sigma E25. The Coastal Scents BR-250.
How cute is this teeny tiny sample of mineral foundation. I just wanted to test it out so 25 cents... pretty sure it's worth it.
I couldn't resist getting some hot pots and a nifty magnetic palette!
These are about the size of MAC shadows, and they are brilliantly soft and pigmented!

One of my favorites is Wild Rasin, A mauvy matte brown that is just stunning for any look!
Because my lips are basically flaking off if I don't put something on them, so I snatched up one of their Lip Affection Lip Balms in Vanilla. It feels really good on my lips but I have to say, I don't smell the vanilla. Oh well, that isn't the point.
Last but SOOO NOT LEAST, I got 2 of the liquid eyeliners in Jet and Plum.
I am incredibly impressed with these. They don't say long wearing or waterproof but they go on with amazing opacity and stay on all day long! They stayed on my hand until I scrubbed I mean SCRUBBED (I suppose I could've used makeup remover... but brain farts are a thing!) them off! I will for sure be buying the rest of the colors and an extra Jet!

Coastal Scents always has some kind of sale so you can get some great quality makeup, brushes and body care for an extremely GREAT price!
Let me know if you have any of their products and if there is anything I should try!
If you want an in depth review on any of these products just leave a comment below and I would love to help you out!
Thank you so much for reading and looking at my makeup spending problem in picture form! HA!

Friday Favorite!

Need some help turning that pretty eyeshadow into an awesome eyeliner? Want to make that glitter stick with out using icky sticky glue?
That's where my lovely Friday Favorite comes in handy!
The ELF Makeup Lock and Seal!
You can get this at the link above, or like myself, you can get it at Target!
For a measly 3 bucks I'm pretty sure we all need this!
At first glance it looks like water, but OH BABY is this more!
It comes with a little container and brush...
(This has completely changed my life with glitter!)
Just put some glitter in the pot and add a few drops of the Lock and Seal.
Press the mixture where ever you may want it, and VOILA!
Your glitter will stay all day without the lasting tacky feeling of glue!
The only downside is that once it is dry, if you accidentally rub your eye you will more than likely take off some of the glitter. (I'm used to not touching my face for the most part so I can deal with that.)
This really is a life changing, INEXPENSIVE product that I am now absolutely in LOVE with!
I would recommend this to anyone looking to use glitter from novice to pro!
If you get a chance to try it let me know! Leave me a comment of what you think!
Thank you so much for reading!

Ghost of Christmas Past

Twas the night before Thursday... and it's time to take you on a journey through your past!
Hopefully you like my interpretation of the Ghost of Christmas Past!
I will be using Snazaroo Zebra face paint kit.
Using a wet sponge cover your face in white.
Pick pieces off of the end of the sponge to create texture and stipple on the gray adding extra gray to areas you want to appear hollow.
Line your upper and lower lash and water lines with a black liner.
Pat the black on the eyelid going into the crease using a fluffy brush. Line the lower lash line using a thin detail brush.
Fill in around the black with white and blend with your finger.
Sketch in brows with the gray using a thin brush. They should look bushy and unruly. We are going for haven'tlookedatmybrowsinoveronehundredyears! Haha.
Begin to add cracks with a thin liner brush. Make sure that the black paint has enough water! Once you have the line made, begin to add holes. Like pieces of your skin are falling off.

With a black shadow shade around your cracks. Shade around your lips as well to add definition.
Using your liner brush and white paint, highlight the cracks for dimension! This will really make them stand out.
Tidy up the eyes with the liner brush, pat a black shadow on top. Add some shading with a small brush all the way around the eye. When you close your eyes they should look almost hollow.
I also added some blue glitter to give a frosty effect.
And your are DONE!
 And some IPhone Effects...

Thank you so  much for stopping by! If you guys try anything like it feel free to send me a picture! Let me know what you think in the comments below! I took a little inspiration from the movie Scrooged and just a little happy creativity! I really hope you like it at least a little bit!
So happy you stopped by! Hope you are having a fabulous holiday season!
