5 UNDER $5

Explanation: Five beauty products that get the job done that are each priced under Five dollars! Something everyone has got to love.

#1 ELF Eyeshadow Quads
Punk Funk/Pretty n' Pink/Butternut
These little $1.00 shadows pack a lot of pigment for a very little price.
They are slightly chalky but you can fix that by tapping your brush off.

 #2: Nivea Lip Butter
Really creamy and the smell... OMG THE SMELL!
I'm pretty sure if I were five again I would probably want to eat these.
My lips are always totally hydrated and soft when I use these and for $2.99 I would sat that is a steal.

#3 Maybelline Great Lash Big Mascara
First off, a $3.97 bottle of mascara is unheard of anymore. So for this mascara to give you the results it does is amazing! Your lashes will be fuller, separated, and slightly lengthened.
I even goofed and got the brownish black and my lashes were still dark and defined!

#4 Wet n' Wild ColorIcon Blusher
Heather Silk/Pearlescent Pink
Really pigmented, so much so that one little dab of your brush will do the trick... Unless you're doing the 80's thing. Once again a blush for $2.99 is really just out of this world. and these two colors will work with any skin tone. Not chalky and super soft, they can compare to blushes well over their price.

#5 Maybelline Baby Lips
Melon Mania/Quenched/Berry Bomb
Ranging anywhere from $2.99 to $3.99 these lip balms are moisturizing and fun to wear.
If you happen to get one with a tint it will add a little color on your lips that will leave people wondering what you're wearing to make your lips look so cute!
There is a huge range and they all smell great and work very well.
Berry Bomb at the bottom is my favorite!

All of these products work great and I wouldn't recommend them if I didn't use them myself. I love them all. Let me know what you think if you get any of them!
If you want to see 5 under $5 not worth buying just leave a comment below!

Easy Daytime Brown Smoked Eye For Everyone!

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • Shadow base
  • Skin tone colored shadow
  • Medium brown eyeshadow
  • Dark brown eyeshadow
  • Black eyeshadow
  • Pearly shimmer shadow
  • Black liner (liquid, gel, or pencil)
  • Brown pencil liner
  • Favorite mascara
  • Large and small fluffy brushes

For the skin toned/medium brown/dark brown shadows I will be using the Lorac 2012 Sweet Luxuries Palette. Just use any similar color you have.
Apply your base (NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Cashmere)

Apply a skin toned shadow all over the lid.
Sweep the medium brown shadow through the crease and outer corner of the eye. You don't have to be super neat with this. We will blend it all together in another step.
Now sweep a small amount of the dark brown shadow over the top where you placed the medium brown and blend slightly.

Push your black eyeshadow deep in (wet and wild black shadow from I <3 Mattes palette) to the crease and outer corner. (This may seem repetitive but it helps add depth and definition to the look.)

Now BLEND BLEND BLEND with your large fluffy brush

Taking your large fluffy brush pat on the pearly shimmer (NYX Ultra Pearl Mania shadow in Pearl) shadow.

Using your black liner, line the upper lash line. With the brown pencil liner line your upper and lower water line (the inner fleshy part of the upper and lower lid) and smudge the liner a bit with your finger on the lower lash line.

And last but not least, brush on your favorite mascara.
And YOU'RE DONE!

Hope you enjoyed my first attempt at a blog tutorial.
Hopefully they will get better.
Thank you for your time!!

How To: Dry Shampoo

GOT DIRTY HAIR?

EW!

NEED TO FIX IT IN A HURRY?
NO TIME TO WASH IT?

Well I'm here to help. Sometimes we just don't have time to wash our hair. No one is perfect, we all wake up late(or just have lazy days). A lot of us know now that it's NOT good to wash your hair every day either!! The oil in your hair helps keep your scalp hydrated and your hair soft. So the dirty hair fairy gave us a little gift!
AAH! Dry Shampoo. As far as brands go Batiste is definitely my favorite. They have so many different kinds an I love every single one that I've tried, but use your favorite. As long as you love it, that's all that matters.

STEP ONE: Shake the can (sorry I don't have a picture for this one)

STEP TWO:
Spray on roots until you look like you have a lot of gray outgrowth!!
I know, I know you're going to think you look so sexy at this point and want to leave your hair like this, but please move on to the next step.

STEP THREE: STOP!! WAIT!! Let the dry shampoo sit in the hair for a couple of minutes. I've even put it in my hair before I go to bed if I know I won't be washing my hair the next morning.

STEP FOUR:
Start to vigorously run your fingers through your scalp! Really shake your hair out!
No, I mean really shake it out. Get it messy and really fluff it up to get as much of the excess powder out as possible.

STEP FIVE:
Un-messy your hair with a comb or brush. Brush the top of your hair well to get the remaining powder off of your scalp.

AND YOUR DONE!!
Hair no longer looks shiny or greasy. If you have darker hair, Batiste makes a really amazing dry shampoo made especially for those of you with dark brown to black hair (the powder is tinted brown). I used to use it when I dyed my hair dark brown and it's awesome!

Thank you everyone for reading!
Hope this will make your dry shampoo experience a little easier!

Burts Bees Replenishing/Rejuvenating Lip Balm Review

Hi Everyone! Happy product review Monday!!
Today's  Pièce de résistance
The new(ish) Burt's Bees Lip Balms
Now, I talk a lot and I tend to get chapped lips pretty easily if I don't take care of my lips so I was a little skeptical about these little guys because I really dislike the original Burt's Bees Beeswax lip balm. I would use it for a couple of days with good results and then all of the sudden my lips were UNCONTROLLABLY DRY! Ugh EW! But these were so colorful and cute and only $2.99 at my local grocery store, so I had to snatch them up.
The second I opened these puppies I was IN LOVE! They smell amazing, fruity and sweet and a big thing for me, there is NO MENTHOL/MINT! Most people don't know, but menthol and peppermint can actually be an irritant and cause excessive drying (which is what happened in my case but it wont happen to everyone. I'm just sensitive :P). Needless to say my lips were and have been so comfortable and hydrated and even though I have the general female problem of circling my lip balm about a hundred times around my lips 60 times a day, I don't need to!! The moisture lasted on my lips for a good 3 hours! I was so shocked!

As you can see (sort of) they give off a little bit of shine and even though the Replenishing balm has a red tint it doesn't give off any color. Even where the spot that I put these on my hand was soft after I wiped the balm away.
There are 6 different variations of these balms that I know of. Will I be going out of my way to buy all of them? UM YES! I'm a lip balm junkie and I also have a habit of leaving them in my pocket and giving them a good wash. Oops, you know you've done it too.
Overall if you can find these babies in a grocery store around you pick one up and see if you feel the same as me! I really feel like this is one of the best lip products I've tried over the last year and they blow some of the other popular brands (and even some of their sister products) out of the water! If you pick one up I hope you love it as much as I do!
Thanks for reading
Hope you enjoyed!

August Ipsy Glam Bag Show and Tell WITH PRODUCT REVIEW!

                                AUGUST IPSY GLAM BAG

WHAT I GOT:
  • Michael Todd True Organics Jojoba Charcoal* Facial Scrub
  • Pacifica ALIGHT Multi-mineral BB Cream
  • Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick (Anarchy)
  • Pixi Lash Booster Mascara (Black)
  • NYX Cream Rouge (CB13/Tickled)
To be honest, I really loved this Glam Bag. Plus with every Glam Bag you get really awesome discounts on every product they featured for the month (usually around 7-10 different brands)

                                                  SO HOW WERE THE PRODUCTS?

Micheal Todd True Organics Jojoba Charcoal* Facial Scrub $18.00 at http://www.michaeltoddtrueorganics.com/index.php/mtto-jojoba-charcoal-facial-scrub-103.html

I loved this product. It gets rid of dead skin and clogged pores FOR SURE! It has a very light scent and the best part of it all is that it DOES NOT cause any damage or break outs on my dry/sensitive/very acne prone skin! Definitely would recommend!

Truth be told, I was not very impressed with this one. Its very sparkly(which doesn't really flatter the best of us). There was minimal coverage and it claims to have skin tone matching technology to which I say POO because that kind of thing really never works. Especially when you are a ghost like me!! Overall not something I really loved but to each their own and there is no reason you shouldn't. Remember, no one has the same skin or opinion. :)

I don't think I could rave about this more! It is so comfortable on the lips, the color will last (if you get a bright color it will stain your lips. Be prepared!) The pigmentation is out of this world, I only applied one coat with no lip liner and it looks beautiful. There is a fair amount of shine but no sparkle. I feel a HOLY GRAIL lipstick coming on.

Pixi Lash Booster Mascara (Black) $17.00 at http://www.pixibeauty.com/lash-booster-mascara-1922

I kind of have a love hate with this mascara. It doesn't have the best staying power. It doesn't really build up your lashes with length or volume. So why would I like it? My lashes feel amazing when I use this. They stay super soft and there is NO flaking. If you have oily eyelids like me it will smudge a little bit but I like wearing this mascara on days where I don't wear any other makeup. So I can just gently wipe it away with a tissue or cotton swab. I recommend this if you like a more natural look to your lashes. I want to try the blue black one eventually!

NYX Cream Rouge (CB13/Tickled) $6.00 at http://www.nyxcosmetics.com/p-25-rouge-cream-blush.aspx

This little guy is a STINKING STEAL! I actually already own a few and I say get your hands of some of this stuff. It will last all day and is works beautifully on all skin types. I love this color. Kind of a peachy pink with a bit of shimmer that makes your cheek bones look FANTASTIC! And if you don't feel like wearing it on your cheeks you can pop it on your lips for a quick splash of color (I would use a lip balm first though). I've heard a lot of people say that they keep getting these in their Ipsy bags, but I love them so I wouldn't really have anything to complain about if I got another one. Really great product, if you want to try a cream blush this would be a great one to start with.

Obviously I was a little overjoyed with this months bag! if you would like to join me in getting one of these monthly bags here's a link:http://www.ipsy.com/?refer=u-hhv0ar9agx5jw0
It's $10.00 a month and I've been pretty impressed so far. You will get mostly sample sizes but for ten bucks, can you really go wrong? You get to try some amazing product that can be pretty pricey if you just go out and buy them yourself, and you don't have to worry about going back and dealing with the hassle of a return if you didn't like the product! Love the Ipsy Glam Bag! Hope you do too!

I hope this was a good review for everyone. Feel free to leave a comment or a suggestion below! Thank you so much for reading. Hope you enjoyed!!

COCONUT OIL!! WHAAAAAAA??

Why Coconut Oil you ask?
WHY NOT?!?!
Coconut Oil is so useful in so many ways. To list of just a few:
  1. Cooking
  2. Smoothies
  3. Moisturizing (face and body)
  4. Hair/Face Masks
  5. Cutical Oil
  6. De-frizzing Hair Oil
  7. Makeup Removal
And my list could seriously go on for days.
Don't believe me? Look it up, that's what Google is there for isn't it? Haha just kidding. Here's some more info.
Coconut Oil is derived from the white meat of the coconut and there are typically three kinds you can find in your grocery store: REFINED, UNREFINED, AND VIRGIN. So which one should you be using? Really you can use any kind you want. The best for all around is going to be VIRGIN or UNREFINED oil. These oils haven't been heated and the meat of the coconut usually wasn't dried in harsh conditions to extract the oil. This is the only kind of coconut oil I would recommend ingesting. It is a little more expensive but it's worth it. The refined works just fine when using it for any external purposes.
For a little more info check out this link:http://healthyeating.sfgate.com/refined-vs-unrefined-coconut-oil-2296.html

So now you need a little help whipping up some awesome DIY little lovelies. I suppose I could help you with that. But don't forget that you can use coconut oil alone on your hair overnight as well as a total body moisturizer. Just give it a little time to soak in before getting dressed (it doesn't really have the same awesome effect on your clothes :P)

DIY PROTEIN HAIR MASK
You will need:
  • 3-6 tbs coconut oil (depending on how much hair you have)
  • 1tbs vitamin E oil
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 1-2 whole eggs
Mix well and leave in hair for up to an hour. Shampoo thoroughly and condition as normal. Hair will be shiny and much easier to manage AND LESS FRIZZ!

HYDRATING COCONUT OIL FACE MASK
You will need:
  • 1tbs coconut oil
  • 1/2 tbs honey
  • 2-3 drops of your favorite essential oil (I like lavender, rose, & tea tree)
Mix ingredients together and apply to face using either fingers or an old foundation brush. Leave for 5-15 minutes and simply rinse off.

I even add coconut oil to my smoothies, coffee and tea. It adds a slight coconut flavor and smooth texture. You can just spoon it out of the jar and down a tablespoon but... I'm not really a fan of that.

My love for coconut oil is probably a serious problem and more of an addiction but you should give it a try next time you're at your local health food store. I really think most people will love it.
Let me know what you think!
Thank for reading and I really hope you enjoy!

A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND WHAT I WANT TO DO :)

Hi Everyone!!

I'm Chelcey and I am an aspiring makeup artist...Insert some of my work:

Wedding photos done by the wonderful Sarah Siler Photography. If you're in Iowa you should definitely look her up. She was so wonderful to work with.

Anyway... I am 100% OBSESSED with makeup and skin care and hair care.. so that's really the whole point of calling this the Whole Body Beauty blog.

Now I know there are more Beauty Bloggers and Gurus than you have body parts to count but another helpful OCD makeup hoarder giving their honest thoughts and opinions never hurts.

Starting this blog is completely inspired by the people I've met along my makeup journey that made me realize SO MANY WOMEN OUT THERE, DESPITE ALL OF THOSE WONDERFUL BEAUTY BLOGGERS AND GURUS, DON'T KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT MAKEUP AND SKINCARE!!!

So for those of you who come along on the rest of this journey with me, I welcome you with open arms and am very happy to read your comments and take your requests.
Wish me luck! &>
